How do I update my currency?

You can easily update your currency whether you’re using the Airalo app, a mobile device, or a desktop device. 

Airalo app/mobile:

  1. Open Profile and navigate to Currency — you’ll see your currently selected currency listed (e.g. “Currency: United States dollar (USD) $”).
  2. Tap to open and scroll through the list of currencies – you can also use the search bar to find your desired currency.
  3. Select the currency you’d like to use.
  4. Confirm you’d like to update your currency — your Airmoney balance will also convert to the new currency.

Desktop:

  1. Navigate to the top of the webpage — you’ll see your current currency in the top navigation (e.g. “$ USD”).
  2. Click on your currency to open a list of currencies — you can scroll through or search to find your desired currency.
  3. Select the currency you’d like to use.
  4. Confirm you’d like to update your currency — your Airmoney balance will also convert to the new currency.

Once updated, all prices will be shown in your chosen currency. Additionally, you’ll see your Airmoney balance listed in the updated currency. For more information, read our help center article on which currencies Airalo supports.

Can I update my currency while making a purchase?

While using the Airalo app or a mobile device, you are not able to update your currency directly in the checkout process. If you decide to change currencies while making a purchase, you will have to navigate back to Profile to update your currency. 

Once updated, you can purchase an eSIM package in your desired currency.

On desktop devices, the currency selector will be available to you in the top navigation until you reach the final stage of the checkout process. You can update your currency at any point before you complete your order.

Will my transaction history be converted to my updated currency?

No, transactions will always be listed in the currency in which they are made. 

For example — If you change your currency from USD to EUR, new transactions will appear in EUR while previous transactions will still appear in USD. 

You can view all of your purchase transactions by navigating to Orders from your profile.

How is Airmoney affected if I update my currency?

If you update your currency, your Airmoney balance will also be converted to your selected currency. This way you can easily apply Airmoney to any purchases you make, regardless of the currency you are using.

Please note, Airmoney is marked to the United States dollar (USD). Airalo uses a third-party service to calculate exchange rates — if you update your currency, your Airmoney balance will convert based on the current rate.
