With renewals, Airalo offers the ability to automatically top up your eSIM when you’re running out of data. Renewals are currently available for the following eSIMs:
- Discover (Global)
- Discover+ (Global)
How do renewals work?
Renewals can be turned on and off, as you need.
When enabled, the eSIM package your currently using renews automatically when you’re running out of data. This means if you’ve purchased a 1 GB - 7 day eSIM package, each renewal will include 1 GB of data valid for 7 days.
- Your renewal will be purchased when you have 10% data remaining.
- The renewal package will activate when you run out of data.
Note, you must actively be using an eSIM to use renewals. You can’t enable renewals if your eSIM’s data has already run out or your package’s validity period has ended.
How do I turn on renewals?
Once you’ve purchased an eSIM, you can turn on renewals by doing the following:
- Go to My eSIMs > DETAILS for the relevant eSIM.
- Scroll to the RENEWALS section.
- Enable the toggle so it shows ON.
When you want to turn renewals off, disable the toggle so it shows OFF.
What if my validity period ends before I use enough data?
Your package will not renew if the validity period ends before enough data is used. In this instance, renewals will be turned off, automatically.
What if my package includes calls and texts?
If you are using a package that includes calls and texts, it will only renew if you’ve used enough data. Your renewal package will also include calls and texts.
How do I pay for renewals?
You’ll need a card saved for payments to use renewals. Please note that Airmoney, Apple Pay, and Paypal can’t be used to pay for renewals.
If your saved card is set to expire, we will send you notifications to update your card so you can stay connected.
If a renewal payment can’t be processed, your package will not renew and you will not be charged.
